Adobe Labs is a cool place to check out many of the company’s mini digital revolutions. One of them is Digital Editions, a 2.5 MB free download, that the company describes as “a completely new way to read and manage eBooks and other digital publications. Digital Editions is built from the ground up as a lightweight, rich Internet application (RIA). Digital Editions works online and offline, and supports both PDF and XHTML-based content.”
Mind you the product is still in its beta version (and for PC only), meaning Labs is still modifying, adding, or fixing Digital Editions with feedback received from consumers like yourself through their discussions boards. However, the free download, besides the opportunity to test drive the product comes with goodies, sample eBooks. Adobe plans a Mac version of DE soon.
